Pipes Already Frozen?

Has your pipe already burst from being frozen? Unfortunately you will need to replace the pipe. It doesn’t matter if its a frozen drain pipe, a sewer line, or a water line we can help you replace affected pipe. If you believe the pipe has not burst yet but is frozen, and you are able to access the pipe you can loosen the blockage then you can try using the following steps to help unfreeze the pipe:

  1. Turn off the water supply to the affected pipe, you may need to turn off the water supply to the entire house.
  2. Prepare a mop, bucket and towels – the ice in the pipe may be blocking a crack in your pipe and thawing it may cause a leak
  3. Using a hair dryer, space heater, or something similar, begin thawing the pipe. You can use something known as a thermostatically controlled heat tape which you can wrap around the pipe to thaw it. Do not use anything that produces a flame to thaw the pipe as it could cause a fire.
  4. If the pipe starts to leak, if you haven’t yet turn off the water supply to your house and contact us immediately. We will send one of our professional, insured, licensed and bonded plumbers to help you as soon as possible.
